Special Weather Instructions for June 24, 2023
A Message from Tim and Polly Alexander:
Reminders for Saturday's concert. We can't wait to see all of you.
1. CHAIR/UMBRELLA. Please bring a comfortable lawn chair and umbrella (or poncho) just in case. We now have 6 pop-up tents and looking for more. We are watching the weather reports. But with these tents (barring lightning or a severe windstorm) we expect the concert will happen come rain or shine. Our garage will serve as an extra emergency shelter/overflow. We will also have 60 folding chairs set up throughout the lawn -- feel free to use these instead of your own.
2. DONATION. Please bring a recommended donation of $20 per person. We'll have donation jars set out. It all goes to the artists.
3. BYO. Please feel free to bring food or beverage of choice (no glass containers please). E.g., wine, beer, water, or soda. Come early and have a picnic – we will have ice cream treats at intermission for everyone.
4. FLASHLIGHT. The show will end after dark (9:30 -9:45 PM) so you may find it helpful to bring a decent flashlight for your walk home/to your car/porta-john.
5. PARKING OFF-STREET & BATHROOM FACILITIES. Please be kind to our neighbors when you park. Please look for off-street parking on our corner (Deer Road and Spring Lane). Otherwise, park as far off the street as possible, and please do not block anyone's driveway. Lastly - we have rented a porta-john for the evening - with easy access from the front yard.
6. CHECK YOUR EMAIL AFTER 6:00 PM ON SATURDAY TO KNOW FOR CERTAIN WHETHER WE HAVE BEEN FORCED TO CANCEL DUE TO WEATHER. The band is coming in from North Carolina and we will do our best to stage this concert, rain or shine. It’s an outdoor woodland concert and we have been praying all week long.
Our driveway technically opens Saturday night at 6:30 PM and the show will start at 7:30 PM. But, at 4-4:30 PM, you might get to hear a little bit of the artists' sound-check if you are out here for a walk. And if you drop by on Friday night, right after sunset, you will see some of our tent/stage lighting all setup.
Please travel safely on Saturday and we hope you enjoy the show.
